چکیده

Adaptation in eLearning has been an important research topic for the last few decades in computerbased education. In adaptivity the behaviour of the user triggers some actions in the system that guides the learning process. In adaptability, the user makes changes and takes decisions. Progressing from Computer Based Training and Adaptive Hypermedia Systems, adaptation in eLearning today involves new technologies and ways of expression. In this context, IMS Learning Design (IMS LD) is an eLearning specification that allows for modelling learning experiences including adaptation and personalized learning. IMS LD fulfils many of the requirements for realizing adaptive and adaptable units of

What is wrong with the IMS Learning Design specification? Constraints And Recommendations

The work presented in this paper summarizes the research performed in order to implement a set of Units of Learning (UoLs) focused on adaptive learning processes, using the specification IMS Learning Design (IMS-LD). Through the implementation and analysis of four learning scenarios , and one additional application case, we identify a number of constraints on the use of IMS-LD to support adapti...

Authoring game-based adaptive units of learning with IMS Learning Design and <e-Adventure>

Electronic games and simulations (eGames) are a valuable support for adaptive learning. This adaptation can be based on different inputs, such as the user’s performance, behaviour or cognitive load. Both adaptation and eGames can be modelled with IMS Learning Design (IMS LD) or integrated from an external resource. In this article we show the relation between IMS LD and the Projec...

Context-aware Adaptation Process to Build Units of Learning Based on Ims-ld Standard

Mobile and ubiquitous computing are changing the way how the students are learning. Heterogeneity of learner preferences in learning processes using Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a problem that researchers have been focused in the last few years. With the existence of different devices to access, technologies to interact, learning styles, competences to acquire, among others, the interes...

Towards an open framework for adaptive, agent-supported e-learning

E-learners require activities and content based on their preferences and prior knowledge, not merely fully static, page-turning sequences. In this paper we present a framework that integrates and supports two approaches towards adaptation to the learner needs – design and runtime adaptation. The framework is based on IMS Learning Design (IMS LD). IMS LD offers a semantic notation to describe an...

Augmenting E-learning Standards with Adaptation

Collaborative learning, in the context of Learning Management Systems (LMSs), is becoming an important factor in the e-Learning process. LMSs such as Blackboard, Sakai, allow various forms of collaboration between students. Moreover, LMSs allow a high degree of reuse by relying on e-Learning standards. Nevertheless, LMSs lack adaptation and personalization facilities. Adaptive Hypermedia enviro...
